About Tomas Santos Yciano

You might recognize me as the one guy from St. John\'s who reposts everything on LinkedIn. But behind that is a passion for opening as many doors as possible for others.Born in the Dominican Republic, learning was a struggle early on — a challenge often recalled by my parents as they encouraged me to engage with my studies. However, relocating to New York City at age six transformed my perspective and ignited a fervent curiosity to understand and interact with my new environment. This newfound passion propelled me academically and sparked my desire to share my knowledge with others.Today, I’m a Fast Track B.S./M.S. student in Computer Science and Data Science at St. John’s University and serve as President of the STJ ACM Student Chapter, where I help lead the university’s premier community for Computer Science and Cybersecurity students.I’ve co-founded and helped lead initiatives focused on technology, business, and career readiness, including relaunching the FBLA chapter and founding St. John’s Hacks, the university’s official hackathon. Through these efforts, I work to connect students with hands-on experience, industry exposure, and the confidence to pursue careers in tech and business.Professionally, I’ve completed two EY Launch internships, working across AI, data, and cybersecurity. These experiences included supporting an enterprise data strategy for a U.S. government agency and contributing to organizational change and technology initiatives for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company. I’m excited to return in Summer 2026 as a Tech Consulting Intern in EY’s AI & Data competency, continuing to grow at the intersection of technology, business, and impact!Outside the classroom and professional sphere, I cherish time spent with family and friends, delve deeper into my faith in Jesus Christ, serve my church congregation\'s children and youth as a Sunday School teacher, travel extensively, and enjoy cheering on my favorite New York sports teams!
