ABOUT TJ SLADE

I’m a computer science educator and entrepreneur who thrives on collaboration - whether with students, colleagues, or clients. Over the years, my business, Solo Digital Design, has grown significantly, allowing me to transition from a full-time teaching role to a virtual teaching position while focusing primarily on running and expanding my business. As an educator, I teach introductory video game design, honors & AP-level computer science, and both introductory and advanced web design. My students work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, Bootstrap, Git, GitHub, C++, C#, and React Native, while also having opportunities to explore other areas of computer science.Just like I love helping students, I’m passionate about helping small businesses achieve their digital goals. Through Solo Digital Design, I specialize in web development, SEO, and digital solutions tailored to each client. What started as a passion project has turned into a thriving business, and I absolutely love every aspect of it.I’m happiest when solving a problem, exploring a new concept, and connecting people - whether students or clients - to the possibilities of technology. Learning is a lifelong obsession for me, and boredom is something I’ve never experienced.Beyond work, I’ve made my health a priority. Since my son was born, I’ve committed to working out five times a week and running half marathons to stay motivated. I also bike regularly with my son in his trailer, which has become one of my favorite ways to stay active and explore. When I’m not working, I love scuba diving - by far my favorite adventure - and gaming with friends to unwind.
