ABOUT TITILOPE A.
I am currently a Teacher of Science, passionate about inspiring young people and making science accessible, engaging, and relevant to real world contexts.Prior to teaching, I built my career in the renewable energy sector, working across engineering, project delivery, and customer facing roles in organisations such as Octopus Energy, Daystar Power Group, and Koolboks. At Octopus Energy, I contributed to the analysis of technical performance data for renewable energy assets valued at over £300 million, supporting stakeholder reporting. At Daystar Power, I worked on large scale solar PV projects, including the Nigerian Bottling Company (Coca-Cola), where my team designed 627kWp of solar capacity as part of a wider 10.3MW deployment. At Koolboks, I trained over 200 solar installers across Africa, supported engineering operations, and worked closely with commercial teams to drive a 50% increase in referrals, sales, and installations.These experiences allowed me to develop strong skills in project coordination, problem solving, communication, and working across technical and non-technical teams, while contributing to expanding energy access in underserved communities.I now bring this industry perspective into the classroom, helping students connect scientific concepts to real world applications, while continuing to grow as an educator committed to inclusive and high quality teaching.
