ABOUT TISHIYA CAREY

I am a public health epidemiologist and global health researcher, driven by a deep commitment to advancing health equity through data-driven research, community-centered care, and collaborative leadership. I hold a Master of Public Health from the University of Chicago, with a concentration in Global Health Epidemiology, and my work focuses on cancer disparities, community health interventions, and translational research that informs policy and practice. Across my roles, I have worked to bridge gaps between data, systems, and communities: • At the National Cancer Institute, I led research exploring the intersection of aging, cancer, and HIV, contributing insights to improve care strategies for older adults living with HIV and cancer. • At UChicago Medicine’s Urban Health Initiative, I evaluated the impact of Community Health Worker engagement on oncology patient outcomes, supporting data-driven decisions that optimize care for underserved populations. With a passion for systems-level change, I aim to drive meaningful impact at the intersection of research, policy, and community engagement. I am always eager to connect, collaborate, and co-create innovative solutions that advance health equity and center the voices of those most affected.
