Tira Harney Clay, PhD is the founder and President of Human Interaction Experience, LLC, and Emmaus Institute of Brain Health, Wellness, and Research, Inc. Dr. Tira is also a licensed minister of the gospel, seizing every opportunity to share the love of God with the world, and those she meets on a daily basis. Dr. Tira is an accomplished behavioral medicine professional and higher education leader with over 30 years of experience as an administrator, educator, consultant and coach. Dr. Tira earned her doctoral degree in Applied Psychophysiology/Clinical Psychophysiology from the College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences - Saybrook University. She earned her Master’s in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology, and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Spelman College. She holds post-graduate license and certifications in Christian counseling, health coaching, integrative mental health, natural health, health education, and interactive metronome. Dr. Tira provides transformative knowledge and skills with a focus on the interconnectedness between psychology and biology. As an integrative behavioral medicine professional for educational, sports, and business-related entities, she utilizes various assessments, psychophysiological interventions, and diverse modalities to guide her services. Dr. Tira’s research focuses on the influences of “luteal stress” in the brain and behavior in women with premenstrual, mood-related symptoms. She seeks to identify brain activity and psychophysiological interventions that can target and regulate aberrant neural activation patterns to ameliorate premenstrual symptomatology. Dr. Tira’s years of experience in STEM-related institutions as a college president, chief academic officer, and professor compliment her love as a behavioral medicine professional. Hence, she continues to design medically-related health and wellness programs/curricula and write for colleges, universities and businesses. Dr. Tira has published the Foreword and Chapters in osteopathic and trichology text books, and she continues to travel nationwide to educate and consult as a brain and integrative health advocate and higher education expert. Dr. Tira continues to study directly under some of the most respected experts in the fields of neuropsychology, clinical psychology, behavioral and biological medicine, and integrative mental health.
