I have over 20 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry, with a focus on underwriting and leadership roles. My expertise spans across multiple territories including Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, and Florida, and I have worked with a diverse range of insurance brokers, agents, and customers.Throughout my career, I have managed portfolios encompassing various industry segments such as technology, law firms, wineries, real estate, manufacturers & distributors, museums & cultural institutions, life science companies, and financial institutions. My experience includes underwriting a broad spectrum of products including property, liability, auto, workers compensation, umbrella, and foreign exposures.I began my insurance career in sales, transitioning to the carrier side after 2.5 years of agency production. From 1998 to 2003, I specialized in underwriting Middle Market risks. In 2003, I took on my first leadership role while continuing to handle a book of business and lead a team of underwriters. My relocation to Kansas City expanded my responsibilities to include risks beyond the Middle Market segment.Currently, I lead a team of underwriters serving the Southeast Region of the US, managing a portfolio exceeding $150M+ comprised of multi-line and multi-industry risks. In addition to underwriting, I am actively involved in training, coaching, and mentoring new underwriters both locally and corporately.
