Tina is a Healthcare Executive and Entrepreneur with over 30 years of professional experience in the industry. As the Executive Director of MediExcel Health Plan, a company she co-founded 15 years ago, Tina is working to improve healthcare access in the region and offer the San Diego community cost-effective alternatives to traditional U.S. health benefits insurance. Tina serves on the Board of Directors and is currently the Vice-Chairperson. Prior to her executive role at MediExcel, Tina worked in the health care trenches, saving lives as a cardiovascular surgical nurse. Due to her strong competency and adaptability, she was invited to join a prestigious team to perform the first open-heart surgery in Baja California, Mexico. MediExcel Health Plan offers unique cross-border health insurance programs, approved and licensed by California. Customers are California employers who provide their plans to employees and their families, and members access their health benefits in Mexico.
