Senior Editor, Local Reporting Network @ProPublica
New York, NY, US
Working specifically with newsrooms and reporters who have gone through the Local Reporting Network program, but want to pitch another accountability story or project that would benefit from ProPublica editing, training and other resources. Pitches can be follos to original LRN investigations, shorter quick-turns, or a new project that can managed within existing work flow rather than the one-year commitment.

ABOUT TINA GRIEGO
I\'m a journalist with 24 years of experience in daily newspapers. I spent half my career as a city columnist for both the late, great Rocky Mountain News and the Denver Post. Before becoming a columnist, I wrote long-form narrative for the Rocky and, before that, for the Albuquerque Tribune, which, alas, also has joined that great newsroom in the sky. Special areas of interest: Indian Country, Hispanic issues, demographic change, schools, immigration, youth, family life, neighborhoods and profiles. I began my career in southern California where I covered cops, crime, politics and the suburbs for the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner (yes, that paper, too, bears the sad modifier:\"now-defunct\") and the Los Angeles Times. I was a staff writer for the Washington Post and its digital public-policy initiative, Storyline, writing longform narrative public policy stories. In the last few years, I have moved into editing and, since late 2016, have been the managing editor on the Denver-based nonprofit newsroom, The Colorado Independent. My stories and columns have won multiple national and state awards. You can find a partial list below.
