ABOUT TINA CLAYPOOL

Hired in 2009 by UofL HealthCare to help develop a diabetes management program and pharmacy medication therapy management (MTM) program for employees and dependents of the University of Louisville. This program went live Jan 2010 quickly gained positive outcomes.Upon partnership with KentuckyOne Health in 2013, our pharmacy MTM team developed and provided Diabetes MTM services for KentuckyOne Health employees/dependents with expansion across the state to the central and eastern KentuckyOne Health communities.Back as University of Louisville Hospital, our MTM program continues to thrive with focus on expanded programs for ULH employees, ULP employees, and the metro Louisville community. We have collected and demonstrated positive clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and employer cost savings and look forward to further expansion.I have spearheaded additional ambulatory care services including successful initiation of KY Board of Pharmacy authorized protocols. Our ULH ambulatory care clinical pharmacy specialists continue to develop effective clinical pharmacy services that provide meaningful improvement to patient care and satisfaction. I enjoy serving as a preceptor and mentor to our PGY1 and PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy residents. I am deeply committed to helping our profession continue to improve patient healthcare while highlighting our value to patient care teams.I am passionate about pharmacists serving in the role where we are best - medication expert, patient advocate, and patient health educator. Medication Therapy Management is under utilized in improving health outcomes, medication optimization, and patient safety.I enjoy collaborating with health care professionals and administrators to provide progressive pharmacy services that enhance patient access to improved health, education, and support.
