The Wine Society is the world\'s oldest wine club having been founded at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 4 August 1874. The Wine Society was created and still operates as a co-operative with each member owning one share. The Wine Society continues to be owned solely by its members and trades only with them. The Society has won many awards for the quality of its wine including, in 2014, Decanter wine retailer of the year for the forth consecutive year and IWC wine club of the year.The Society\'s Committee acts as the Board of Directors. In practice, the Committee represents the interests of the members and is involved with setting and approving the strategy of The Society and ensuring that it is managed appropriately through the oversight of appropriate controls and a strong governance structure.

A Senior Executive with substantial experience of working at Board and Executive Committee level in a regulated FTSE100 company, including Human Resources, Pensions, Corporate Governance, Strategic Planning, M&A, Property, Operations and Cost Management. Gained wide experience working in a regulated industry, including requirements of The Pensions Regulator, FCA/FSA, HMT, AMFL, CONSOB, Bank of England and European Commission. In pensions I am a Trustee of the London Stock Exchange Retirement Plan, Chair their Operations Committee and a Client Director at Capital Cranfield Trustees Ltd who provide independent trustees to occupational pension schemes. In the charitable sector I Chair the Board of The People Show, a not for profit theatre company based in London and sit on the Board of The Big House Theatre Company who provide support to disadvantaged after care young people through the use of drama.I am now looking to secure a small number of further independent pension trustee and non-executive positions in both the business and charitable sectors where my skills and experience can be fully utilised to make a significant contribution to the development of the organisation.
