ABOUT TIM RITCHIE

I am an experienced and commercial Finance Director and Corporate Financier having held a variety of executive, non-executive, senior management and advisory positions within regulated and non-regulated public and private company environments, and within professional services organisations, during the last 19 years. Since 2017, I have been Director of Finance at Simpson Millar LLP / Doorway Holdings Limited, a private equity backed legal services group (“the Group”). In this role I have delivered firm-wide restructurings, secured £30m+ of funding to support growth, acquired and integrated several law firms, and introduced data-driven decision making into the Group (representing a significant cultural change). I have also steered the business through pandemic-related operational and funding challenges and set the Group up to face into industry-wide reforms that are due to impact in 2023.My career has enjoyed a bias towards corporate development and business change. In this respect, my CV demonstrates a track record of delivering a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, disposals, private equity backed and leveraged MBO\'s/MBI\'s, fundraisings and refinancings. Furthermore, I have hands-on experience of turnaround / rescue situations, including developing and executing restructuring solutions to preserve viable business lines and jobs.More generally, I believe passionately that better decision making can be achieved through appropriate and robust financial appraisal, and I am an advocate of, and signatory to, the FAST Standard Organisation (an international body promoting standardisation in financial modelling).
