About Timothy Reardon
As the Chief of Data and Research at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, my role is to support data-driven policy making, effective program implementation, and informed public deliberation about housing issues. Since joining EOHLC in August 2023, I\'ve helped develop the state\'s first comprehensive housing plan; steered the creation of an agencywide data warehouse; managed efforts to build new data systems for tracking subsidized housing development; and implemented new data governance practices. Prior to joining EOHLC, I accrued over twenty years of experience in regional planning, with a focus on using analysis and technology to support public engagement and informed decision-making. My work has entailed activities ranging from local planning and zoning projects to regional forecasting and data development. Major initiatives I led at MAPC included integrated transportation and land use planning, socioeconomic projections, policy-oriented technical analysis, development of digital tools and interactive websites, digital equity planning, and creation of new regional or statewide datasets. As the first Chief of Data and Research at the newly-formed the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, my role is to support informed policy-making and effective operations of the department. This includes collecting and presenting information that provides insight on the state of housing needs and the housing market in Massachusetts; development and analysis of evidence-based policy solutions; establishing housing goals and tracking progress; guiding the use of data in Office operations; and supporting the use of technology to better serve households and housing providers.
