About Tim Sweeney
My experience encompasses a wide range of space typologies across higher education and commercial work. My programmatic expertise includes- biology, chemistry, geology, imaging, physics, computational/diagnostic labs- manufacturing, prototyping/maker spaces- containment experience in cleanroom, vivaria and biosafety level-3 design. My project experience draws from a diverse catalog of corporate and institutional projects that feature teaching, research and production laboratory environments. including- undergraduate teaching labs, graduate and post-doctorate research labs- commercial research and development facilities- BSL-3 containment suites- diagnostic clinics- large-scale corporate lab incubator of modular tenant labs and shared core labs. My construction contract administration experience includes a yearlong on-site co-location, with focused collaboration between contractors, facilities personnel, owner commissioning team, and owner project management to collectively resolve project issues. This gave me a unique perspective that shaped my approach to the process of construction, with a focused prioritization of developing constructive working relationships between the design, contractor and owner teams throughout a project.
