WORK HISTORY
President & Chief Designer @Bw Global
Food and energy are global issues. BW GLOBAL has been recognized as one of the world\'s most innovative controlled-environment growing companies, focusing on developing structures and systems that can grow Any Crop, Anywhere, Anytime®. We also bring MicroGrids energy solutions to communities domestically and internationally. BW GLOBAL takes an integrated approach to tackling the challenges around the Food - Water - Energy - Waste nexus. Focusing on evolving the production of food and plants in controlled environments, BW GLOBAL® is endevouring to solve these issues - issues that affect the entire world\'s populations. BW GLOBAL® is working on projects all over the world. Pushing the limits of traditional thinking, BW GLOBAL designed and manufactured, North America’s tallest multi-peak Greenhouse at 3.5 stories tall. The BW FREEFLOW Greenhouse is the most wind, snow and seismically damage resistant Greenhouse in the world. It is the only Greenhouse in the world to have withstood a Category 1 Hurricane without any damage. Using Ultra-high light diffusion covering creates an environment that has no shadows on sunny days and is brighter in the Greenhouse on cloudy days. It offers thermal performance far superior to glass. These advanced light conditions allow plants to achieve higher levels of photosynthetic activity. Yield increases of up to 60% have been observed in these optimized conditions. BW GLOBAL has a vertical growing system that is two stories high that take full advantage of the natural (free) sunlight. This system has a far superior workflow to other vertical systems and can increase yields from 6 to 16 times that of conventional Greenhouse production. BW GLOBAL partnered with KUKA Robotics, the second largest robot manufacturer in the world. BW GLOBAL designed and implemented the largest seven-axis plasma cutting cell in North America. This cell reduces fabrication times of a main structural component from seven hours to seven minutes.
