About Timothy Spalla
Tim Spalla earned a Bachelor\'s in History from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 before volunteering for military service alongside his three brothers. As an Army Ranger, he completed multiple deployments to Iraq and later served in a coveted position within U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), supporting counter-terrorism missions throughout Europe, East Africa, and the Middle East. In 2015, Tim transitioned to conservation work in Africa, founding a company of former U.S. military veterans that partnered with African governments and conservation non-profits to combat wildlife trafficking, including a multi-year collaboration with the National Geographic Society. After completing his Clinical Mental Health Graduate Degree from Regis University in 2022, which included a year-long internship with the Colorado Department of Corrections, Tim briefly pursued doctoral studies in Humanistic Clinical Psychology at Saybrook University, focusing on psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy for veterans with combat-related moral injuries. While those studies were put on hold, Tim focused on founding and growing The Wounded Healer Project, a Denver-based 501c3 providing Veteran-led mental health counseling for justice-involved Veterans, and establishing Agile Wellness Group, a licensed therapy practice offering mental health counseling, wellness coaching, and psychospiritual support. Tim is now pursuing his doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Denver, while continuing his work of helping members of the Veteran and First-Responder community who are struggling with PTSD, Addiction and Moral Injury. Drawing from two decades of witnessing trauma\'s global impact - from combat zones to wildlife conservation frontlines to correctional facilities - Tim knows trauma is universal. And he has committed the rest of his life to helping others embrace the pain and suffering of their deepest wounds, so that they may ultimately arrive at a place of healing and peace – something he believes everyone deserves regardless of where their life’s path has taken them.
