About Timothy Osedach
I am a Ph.D. applied scientist with industry experience that spans data science, robotics, and materials science. In my current role at Lockheed Martin, I am exploring applications of machine learning for national defense. In my previous role at General Dynamics Mission Systems, I supported the development, testing, and commercialization of an unmanned vehicle for naval mine warfare. While at Schlumberger, I led a research effort to develop navigation and perception capabilities for underwater vehicles, which included the application of deep learning classifiers and SLAM. I also developed new spectroscopy techniques for environmental monitoring and downhole fluid analysis, including a downhole instrument for gas chromatography. As a graduate student, I worked at the Organic and Nanostructured Electronics Laboratory at MIT where I designed, processed, and characterized nanostructured optoelectronic devices to explore the underlying physics of their operation.
