About Timothy Maki

After 14 years of leadership in the U.S. Army, spanning combat operations in Afghanistan, multinational coordination across the Korean Peninsula, command roles in Germany, and advisory leadership across Europe, I transitioned from military service to building systems that improve public understanding and institutional accountability.I am a Co-Founder of GovScorecard, a civic technology company focused on making legislative activity transparent, navigable, and usable across all levels of government. GovScorecard addresses a fundamental infrastructure gap: while legislative records are technically public, they are fragmented, inconsistent, and difficult for voters to access or interpret. We build structured civic data systems that allow voters, journalists, advocates, and policymakers to clearly see what government is doing and how decisions are made.My career has been defined by operating in complex, high-stakes environments where clarity, coordination, and execution matter. I bring deep experience in strategic operations, stakeholder alignment, and cross-sector execution across defense, government, and commercial ecosystems. This includes leading multinational teams, building trusted public–private partnerships, and securing competitive SBIR/STTR funding within regulated environments.Based in Colorado Springs, I am focused on building durable civic infrastructure that strengthens accountability, improves decision-making, and expands meaningful public access to information.
