About Timothy Omalley
As an organizational change agent, I am excited to be a part of the Office of the Vice President for Student Success at Indiana University. As OVPSS becomes more engrained in the culture of the university and we continue to expand our team, I am excited for the evolution of a student ready university. I currently serve as the Assistant Director for the Academic Support Services and Training. I convene and support two communities of practice, assist with the prevention education platform, and do various assessment projects for my office and OVPSS. I completed my Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Indiana University while working full-time as an Operations Manager for the Office of Completion & Student Success, which was a university-wide unit focused on enterprise-level student success technologies, tools, policies, data, assessment, and training. Academically, my research interests include program evaluation, student learning outcomes assessment, institutional research, organizational leadership, student success and retention, causal inference, statistical methods, and a developmental focus on LGBTQ+ student identities. Professionally, my higher education and student affairs administration skills and knowledge include academic advising; student data management; data system security and integrity; staff supervision; budget management; residence life; student mentoring; diversity education; outcomes assessment; program evaluation; and student organization advising. I am a certified academic life coach trainer, while actively pursuing Board Certified Coach certification by completing the IU Coaching Conversations program. I have worked at a small, private; a medium, comprehensive; and an urban, research institutions in Midwest; my current position allows me to engage the regional, urban, and residential locations of a multi-campus university.

The upcoming work is yet to be specifically defined, but with the university\'s strategic planning process underway and priorities from senior leadership, it won\'t be long until I have a more defined list. I will say that the Office of the Vice President for Student Success has identified six principles that I whole-heartedly…
