ABOUT TIMO SCHMITZ
Timo Schmitz holds an MA in Philosophy and Political Science from Trier University, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy. His academic interests are wide-ranging, including ancient Greek philosophy—particularly Platonism, the Juche ideology of the DPRK (North Korea), and Chinese ethnic minorities. He is deeply engaged with religious traditions such as Buddhism (with a focus on Yogācāra), Daoism, Judaism, Christianity, and various indigenous religions and new religious movements, seeking to build bridges between these traditions and promote interreligious dialogue. In political philosophy, he critiques the growing polarization and ideologization of contemporary society, emphasizing the importance of inclusive, dialogue-oriented political discourse to strengthen democracy. Schmitz is also a passionate language enthusiast. He teaches himself new languages and continuously strives to improve his skills, continuously improving his skills in both widely spoken languages and smaller, less common ones that he finds fascinating. This curiosity not only challenges him but also enhances his ability to communicate and collaborate in diverse environments—a pursuit he genuinely enjoys
