Under the direction of the Logistics Manager and part of a 4-person logistics team in charge of: Preparation and budgeting of LTL, TL, Heavy Haul and Over Dimensional carrier scopes of work, carrier screening and bid evaluations for carrier Purchase Orders with a minimum value of per carrier. Develop an in-depth knowledge of market trends and capabilities of key carriers and maintain awareness of emerging trends and issues. Ensure that vendors provide complete and accurate import documentation this includes NAFTA Certificates, Commercial Invoice, and TDG documentation. Soliciting RFPs, analyzing responses and recommending best bid for the transfer of over-dimensional equipment to Northern Alberta. Managed all transportation, logistics and trade compliance and customs import activities for Canadian and international facilities. Conduct transportation analysis prior to execution that considers various transportation factors that include efficient routes for transportation, government regulations in the relevant area, road conditions, and vehicular obstructions.
