About Tim McLaughlin

It\'s safe to say my career path has been atypical. English teacher in Japan, outdoor travel guide, San Francisco bike entrepreneur, shared scooter operator, cargo ebike program and product development, and most recently, last-mile vehicle product management. The common thread on my resume is that my work has always aligned with my passions—outdoor travel, urban mobility, transportation decarbonization. It is rooted in the goal to wow the user and customer, responsibly. These days, I have a family, run in a running club, commute by bike and train (even in the rain), and ski and snowboard when I can. I believe in the importance of enjoying the people we work with, embracing shared and unfamiliar passions, and collaborating to drive the creation of products and solutions that help people and planet for the long-term. I\'ve had some memorable career moments-running logistics for the Arthritis Foundation\'s 7-day charity bike ride from San Francisco to Santa Monica, building a profitable business from scratch (literally starting in a garage) based on a notion that travelers should be able to see a different side of San Francisco, selling that business for 25x the seed capital, expanding and maturing ebike grocery delivery in NYC while lowering cost of delivery, and most recently, developing an EV strategic roadmap for a growing last-mile delivery program. I can\'t say where I\'ll ultimately end up, but I look forward to building more programs, products, and businesses that improve people\'s lives in the present and future.
