   The Plant Engineer primary function is to provide safe, reliable and profitable operation of the Mercury gas turbine, diesels, heating recovery unit, absorption and centrifugal chillers, processed chilled water, uninterruptable cooling systems, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, compressed air, LN2, nitrogen, RO water, 8 UPS’s totaling 5.7 megawatts and utility infrastructure for the campus critical facility customers. The campus facility customers encompass a Data Center with 2N reliability, the manufacturing test floor, over square feet of lab and office space. Responsibilities encompassed facilities management, power plant operations, data center operations, construction development and implementation, contract management, business administrative duties, EH & S responsibilities,managing CMMS system, plant employee supervision,and provide facilities customer services. • Respond to Power Plant, Data Center, Manufacturing floor and campus facilities casualties and emergencies 24/7/365. • Engineer data center hot aisle containment project reducing data center operational cost by per year. • Maintaining master electrical one-line drawing updates for new electrical projects on campus facilities to meet NFPA and OSHA requirements. • Responsible for maintaining 100% up time during Southern Californian 12hr electrical outage enabling Qualcomm to prevented loss revenue of dollars. • Engineering design of electrical and mechanical PLC automation system that enables the central plant to automatically recover the campus facility in 2 minutes.• Manage contractors during turbine inlet filter housing reconstruction that reduce turbine maintenance intervals and improve turbine operations profitability by dollars annually.
