ABOUT TIM JONES

An experienced construction professional with over 40 years in the sector in a number of different roles. My early career (over 11 years) was in mainstream contracting where I fulfilled a number of site management roles working for the two largest privately owned construction companies in the UK. I\'d consider myself expert in, in-situ concrete construction having spent around 4 years of my career building prisons. I also have considerable experience in fit-out, as both contractor and a client side PM.I spent (10 years) in a client side role working for two renowned experts in their field and completed multiple projects to the highest standards of finish. Many of these projects were carried out whilst the businesses were still trading, which requires a completely different way of working. However, my particular expertise would be in new builds and large conversion projects often requiring negotiation and liaison with landlords and/or their agents in complex buildings like Canary Wharf Tower. My latter career was in Higher Education, where I taught what I had learned in my professional career to undergraduate and postgraduate students from the four main industry disciplines.Since leaving the University I have continued in an educational setting conducting NVQ assessments and undertaking internal quality assessments as well as monitoring construction projects.Throughout my career I have always been interested in the development of the next generation whether that be in the construction industry generally or in junior sports.I have been a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) since 1991 and have served on both regional committees and local Hub committees for well over 10 years.I have always believed in being current and relevant and have maintained all of my industry qualifications. I also believe in being qualified to do whatever I am doing, so have continued with life long learning by undertaking training specific to my role. I am a qualified teacher, football coach and ice hockey manager.I\'ve always excelled in everything I\'ve done in my work and private life, including having been married for 37 years.I’m a keen golfer and proud member of Hallamshire GC the premier course in South Yorkshire. If you\'re interested in a conversation about how I could help you with your business or any construction related issue, reach out to me via this platform, or send me an email.
