Own the Data & AI agenda for a multinational pharmaceutical company, with accountability for moving frontier AI initiatives from early experimentation into production‑grade, deployment across regulated R&D and operational workflows.Defined and operationalised the enterprise AI strategy, shifting from point solutions to capability‑led adoption with explicit regulatory, governance and ROI guardrails.Leading delivery teams using frontier and agentic AI to build production‑ready use cases (e.g. regulatory and scientific decision support, operational and commercial intelligence), pressure‑tested under real compliance and executive scrutiny.Established external technology partnerships to accelerate responsible AI deployment while retaining control over data, risk and long‑term capability.

ABOUT TIM JESSEL
I work at the intersection of science, regulation, and technology in life sciences - where ambition often runs ahead of what is operationally and regulatorily possible.Over the course of my career, I’ve helped organisations tackle deeply siloed R&D, regulatory, and commercial workflows, moving from document‑centric processes toward data and system‑driven operating models. For many years, progress depended on heavy process redesign, standards, and human coordination - effective, but difficult to scale.Over the last few years, through owning and scaling live deployments, I’ve seen first‑hand that frontier and agentic AI can now cross that remaining threshold. Deployed thoughtfully, it can handle the scale and complexity of scientific and regulatory data, reason across unstructured content, and align scientific ambition with operational and commercial reality - while meeting the standards, evidence, and controls required in regulated environments. My work focuses on taking these capabilities beyond pilots: building inspection‑ready systems, embedding them into operating models, and expanding them into durable, revenue‑bearing partnerships. This includes close collaboration with scientists, technologists, regulators, and executive leaders.I do my best work in environments that value intellectual curiosity, first‑principles thinking, and learning through real deployment - where innovation is something you operationalise, not just talk about.
