About Timothy Hoffman

I have a passion for helping others and making a difference in communities through my work. After graduating from Seton Hall University with a Master\'s in Public Administration in May 2016, I became the Director of the Center for Community Research and Engagement at Seton Hall, where I led service-learning programs and community and civic engagement efforts. I wore many hats during a long tenure at Seton Hall - undergraduate student, graduate student, administrator, and full-time faculty member - before transitioning full-time into New Jersey local government. I now have the pleasure of serving my local community as I am the Acting City Clerk for the City of Hackensack. Local government is where you can make a direct impact on people\'s lives and I have had amazing opportunities to work in diverse roles throughout New Jersey, with experience as the Assistant Business Administrator for the Township of Millburn and administrative internships at City Hall in Hoboken. I try to share my love of community building and management through my teaching as I teach public administration and government courses at Seton Hall as an Adjunct Professor in both the Department of Political Science and Political Affairs and the Department of Social Work and Public Administration and at Rutgers University-Newark as a Lecturer for the School of Public Affairs and Administration. I am strongly committed to serving my local community, as I served six years as a member of the Hackensack Board of Education after first being elected at age 19. I had the privilege of being the Board\'s Vice President from 20••••19. I now serve on the City\'s Planning Board and am on a nonprofit board as a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Lower Bergen County.*The views expressed or shared on this page are mine and do not necessarily reflect the official views of the City of Hackensack or anyone associated/affiliated with the City of Hackensack.*
