Contracted as the Tech Lead for a new project, to design and build a platform that would allow companies to manage their energy usage. The Platform has been designed as a distributed system using microservices, with an API first approach, an Event Bus for services to communicate and it currently handles approximately 2.5 billion data readings. The services have been built using Symfony and API Platform with data persisted in MySQL and Mongodb depending on application. As the project\'s Tech Lead, I have been responsible for the whole development life cycle from gathering requirements and taking the architectural decisions, to ensuring solutions follow best practices, meet the requirements laid out in the project’s scope documents and are completed within the estimated timescales.
