Tim is founder and CEO of Informatics Matters Ltd, based near Oxford in the UK.Informatics Matters provides software systems and consultancy for life science organisations. We specialise in chemo- and bio-informatics systems, and have extensive experience in the critical data management issues needed for drug discovery.We work with all common cheminformatics platforms such as MDL, ID-BS, Daylight, ChemAxon, Accelrys, Tripos as well as many open source software including RDKit, Chemistry Development Kit (CDK) and we have created systems for a range of companies, including major pharmaceutical companies.We specialise in- High performance and scalable computing- Bioinformatics, cheminformatics and computational chemistry- Software development- Database solution for chemistry- Project management- Software and data integration- High performance computing- Cloud deployment esp. AWS and OpenStack- Containerisation esp. Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShiftWhilst working with ChemAxon I conceived, created and managed their Instant JChem product which is still one of their major revenue generators.Currently our main work is creating our own next generation open software platform for life sciences that is initially focusing on executing computational workflows and analyses, providing this to scientists in a easy to access manner, and facilitating collaboration between scientists in multiple organisations. The computational notebook is in use at a growing number of organisations, and forms a key part of the OpenRiskNext project, part of the EU\'s Horizon 2020 program, dealing with chemical safety assessment.
