ABOUT TIM CLAYTON-BALL
Most organisations don\'t fail at strategy. They fail at the distance between declaring change and actually making it happen. That gap — between intent and execution, between what leaders say and what their cultures do — is where I have spent the last three decades. As a Senior Partner at Deloitte UK, I work at the most senior levels of organisations navigating transformation: leadership transition, cultural reset, large-scale change, and the moments of genuine uncertainty where the path forward is not obvious and the stakes are high.Transformation is not a strategy problem. It is a leadership one.I am typically brought in when things are complex, when alignment is fragile, or when a leadership team needs to have the conversations it has been quietly avoiding. My work combines deep expertise in organisational transformation with over a thousand hours of executive coaching at the most senior levels — and a facilitative approach designed to create the conditions for decisive, collective action. My practice draws on the latest thinking in neuroscience and behavioural change, and on something I have observed consistently across elite performers — in sport, in business, in any domain where pressure is high and the margin for error is small. The mindsets and habits that separate those who sustain performance from those who stall under it are remarkably consistent. And they are learnable. That is the work.Clients describe my style as both highly strategic and deeply human. I bring clarity without oversimplification, challenge without ego, and pace without losing people along the way.Alongside my client work, I am building a body of thought leadership around the Transformation Gap — the persistent disconnect between declared intent and real change. It is a problem the industry has known about for thirty years. I am working on why it persists, and what it actually takes to close it.If you are navigating a moment that matters, I would welcome the conversation.
