Tim Ahrens is a Partner at EY and Head of Forensic & Integrity Services in Hamburg, leading complex corporate investigations, AI-driven eDiscovery, and crisis response projects for clients across all industries. He has supported numerous national and cross-border investigations for DAX 40, Fortune 500, and mid-sized companies. His casework spans white-collar crimes such as fraud, breach of trust, corruption, and antitrust violations — with a strong focus on digitally enabled fact-finding, regulatory compliance, and cyber incident response.Tim advises clients through the entire investigation lifecycle — from early case assessment to regulatory disclosure — and has deep experience working with national and international authorities. His team integrates forensic technology, AI tools, and legal know-how to uncover risks and restore trust in critical situations.Tim began his career in tax law in the mid-1990s and moved into the field of forensics in 2006 at an international accounting firm. Since joining EY in 2012, he has been instrumental in developing the firm’s forensic capabilities in Germany and was appointed Partner in 2019. Today, he leads the integrated Forensics Services portfolio including Investigations, Disputes & Conflict Resolution, and Crisis Management.A business graduate from Kiel and Las Palmas, Tim is also recognized thought leader in the German compliance community.
