ABOUT TIM SMART
Tim has worked offshore for over 30 years now, starting off as a roustabout with Penrod in the North Sea before joining MI in 1990 and going to mud school in Houston. Since then he has worked in both the Northern & Southern sections of the North Sea for major oil & gas companies including Shell, British Gas and Marathon. He then became a consultant and worked in Denmark before moving farther afield to the Persian Gulf (Iran, UAE & Oman) and nearly 3 very happy years in Indonesia. After three years in Angola working on Chevron projects and nearly four years in Kuwait working for KDF on KOC HTHP projects, I have taken advantage of the opportunity to rejoin a niche company, Sinomine Specialty Fluids, formerly Cabot Specialty Fluids. Specialties: LTOBM with deviated wells. KCL Polymer Mud System. As a drilling fluids engineer, I like to work closely with the operators\' drilling supervisor and drilling fluids supervisor to ensure everything runs smoothly and most eventualities can be anticipated.
