ABOUT TIM SHANER

As the founder of Rehab Support Systems (RSS), I have dedicated my career to improving the lives of individuals in long-term care through the design, customization, and implementation of specialized wheelchairs and advanced positioning systems. My mission is to enhance functional abilities, safety, comfort, and independence by ensuring proper body alignment and stability—because the right wheelchair and seating system can truly transform a life. My journey began in long-term care as an orthotic/prosthetic consultant, where I developed a deep interest in body mechanics and the profound impact that positioning can have on mobility, function, and quality of life. This passion led to the founding of RSS in 1996 with a clear purpose: to deliver quality products, expert knowledge, and exceptional customer service to both residents and the facilities that support them. Today, RSS is recognized as a leader in complex rehab technology, serving residents across California’s long-term care community. We take pride in continually educating our staff, so we can in turn educate end users and caregivers—empowering them with the skills and understanding to maximize independence and well-being. As an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) and Certified Rehabilitation Technology Supplier (CRTS), I am proud to lead a team that is committed to innovation, compassion, and excellence in care. Our focus remains clear: to provide solutions that offer safety, stability, pressure relief, independence, and functionality—helping people achieve their daily activities with dignity and confidence.
