About Tim Scolarici
Architect in Training | NCARB | Construction Management | Algorithm-Aided Design | Biophilic Design | Maxwell Rendering | Exhibition Design31••••••95 tim.scolarici[at]gmail.com Portfolio: https://issuu.com/timscolarici/docs/portfolio_tjs_170718As a son to a military family, my travels through Europe and Asia garnered my interest for historic structures. My parents, a trained industrial designer and artist, encouraged me to pursue Architecture once my grandfather (architect and professor) invited me to Catholic University of America for their summer program in 2003.After receiving my Bachelors of Science in Architecture from UIC Chicago and my Master of Architecture and Construction Management from Washington University in St. Louis I joined Axi:Ome, while lecturing part-time at Washington University.I was fortunate to work on an addition to Eric Mendelsohn’s B’nai Amoona Synagogue in St. Louis for the people at COCA. I led a small design team to create conceptual designs for Emily Pulitzer in the Grand Center area of Central West End in St. Louis. Our team was short-listed in a competition for a condominium in the Bahamas for the Albany Resort. The generation of atmosphere through passive design strategies and Biophilic design is a key component of several of our team’s projects. While working full time at the office, I organize workshops on 3D Modeling with Rhino 3D and Rendering in Maxwell. I create custom workbooks in INDESIGN which are used as a public resource for the students.I have experience in multiple software formats for 3D and BIM modeling, using logic based algorithms such as GRASSHOPPER, and I can render in MAXWELL and V-RAY. Physical MODEL-MAKING is an integral part of my design method and is used in the cost estimating process.
