Operating 24/7 365 days a year. This includes incident and fault management, planned works and proactive and pre-emptive network management. Within this I also have a field services team, service assurance and problem management.I head up Openreach’s in-life optical network data and intelligence team, who use the large amount of network information from the NOC to improve network quality and performance as well as NOC service and improvement teams.I also oversee fibre network commissioning (FTTP for fibre cities, BDUK FTTP & FTTC, customer funded programmes, MDU and direct in ground) which involves the handover to customers of newly built network.I’m also lucky enough to have a specialist national field team who go when nobody else can. They investigate and resolve the most complex problems on the network, for some of our most critical customers.A bit about me. Im a recognised expert in complex network & programme management, with a list of successfully delivered complex network and system change programmes.(£100m +) I have a deep understanding of the processes, hardware, software and systems that are needed to support a national fibre network with a lived experience of strategy, operational change, business planning and technology improvement and I have a great working relationship with a number of the leading hardware manufacturers and UK Telco providers.I’m also a reserve in the British Army Royal Signals as a specialist communications engineer.
