I manage the legal team in the Corporate Finance division of the Alberta Securities Commission. We advise the ASC’s staff, executive and board with respect to the interpretation and application of Alberta\'s securities laws as they relate to corporate finance, investment funds and mergers and acquisitions, and we serve as the principal point of contact between the ASC and reporting issuers and their advisors. We consider applications for exemptive relief from the requirements of Alberta securities laws, review offering documents, represent the ASC in hearings with respect to contested mergers and acquisitions and proxy contests, participate in TSX Venture Exchange oversight, and collaborate with the ASC’s Compliance and Enforcement staff to maintain the integrity of Alberta’s capital market. We also participate in a wide range of Canadian Securities Administrators and ASC local policy projects.I\'m a member of the CSA\'s Corporate Finance, Prospectus Systems, Continuous Disclosure and Exempt Market Committees, among others.
