Reporting to the Managing Director with responsibility for delivering the next generation of advanced photonic optical circuit switches for hyperscale AI, security and quantum networking/quantum key distribution (QKD) applications. Leading engineering teams across Product & Systems, Project Management, Software, Electronics, Mechanical, Test, Process and Production Engineering (NPI) across the UK, Poland and India. My focus is on strengthening engineering discipline, improving cross‑functional collaboration and accelerating development of new switch platforms. Engineering also supports the scale‑up of manufacturing capability, working with operations to improve design‑for‑manufacture, accelerate product test, streamline NPI and ensure new products can be built reliably and at increasing volumes. Alongside delivery responsibilities, I support capability growth by developing leaders, strengthening decision‑making and improving the consistency of recruitment through clearer role profiles and closer alignment with HR and hiring managers.

ABOUT TIM QUILTER

turnarounds, scale‑ups, first‑of‑type product launches and recovery of major safety‑critical programmes. I’ve learned that sustainable performance comes when teams share a clear purpose and operate in a culture where they’re free to do their best work.I combine deep, with a commercial, outcome‑focused mindset. I’ve worked at the forefront of Research and Development ( & ), delivering technology roadmaps in AI/ML, quantum connectivity and advanced timing and location solutions, but it’s my New Product Development () experience turning those technologies into reliable, manufacturable products through disciplined product‑roadmap delivery that motivates me most. I enjoy the engineering foundations – clear requirements, sound architecture and quality‑focused delivery – and I bring a strong grounding in, but I care most about creating the conditions where people can think clearly, collaborate confidently and deliver work they’re proud of.Across my career I’ve, unblocked multi‑stakeholder programmes and modernised engineering practice to lift pace and quality. I bring a ‑ of the full product lifecycle, from concept through industrialisation to in‑life support, and I build environments where, all matter. I enjoy coaching leaders, sharpening decision‑making and helping organisations navigate the technical and cultural transitions that define their next chapter.Mission‑critical communications • Advanced photonics • Air Traffic Management (ATM) • Aerospace & defence • Radar & surveillance • UAS & UTM • Counter‑UAS (C‑UAS) • Engineering transformation, turnaround & recovery• R&D and NPD leadership; technology and product‑roadmap alignment• High‑velocity delivery enablement and modern engineering practices• Technical due diligence and technical risk assessment• Safety‑critical, secure‑by‑design and regulated systems engineering• Systems‑level architecture, governance and assurance• Coaching and developing engineering leaders
