ABOUT TIM NGAI

Tim is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Registered Ground Engineering Professional (RoGEP Specialist grade), with over 20 years’ experience specialised in geotechnical engineering, design, construction, earthworks and drainage remediation. He has worked on a wide range of construction projects involving multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. He has experience with analysing, designing and checking sheet pile retaining walls, soil nailing, rock anchoring, working platforms, crane foundations, retaining structures, shallow and deep piled foundations. He has experience in the production of design documentation and specifications as well as project co-ordination and implementation. He also has hands-on experience involving site inspections and in providing construction supports. He is responsible for undertaking project management of schemes from feasibility to detailed design that includes programme, resource and finance monitoring, safety and quality control and is also responsible for the approval of engineering principles, concept and design reports. He is an approved Geotechnical CRE for railway works, and acted as Network Rail on-call engineer for reactive earthworks in 20••••14 covering the Network Rail Western and Wales Territories, providing engineering advice in the event of sudden earthwork failures. Tim is also an appointed Designer’s Geotechnical Advisor (DGA) for HS2/HE interface schemes, approved by the Highways England Overseeing Organisation’s Geotechnical Advisor (OOGA). He is registered with the Institution of Civil Engineers to act as a Delegated Engineer (DE), approved Supervising Civil Engineer (SCE), mentor, ICE CPR reviewer and RoGEP assessor. He has been active in developing health and safety systems, and its accredited quality and environmental management system.
