ABOUT TIM MORRISS

Hi, I\'m Tim I\'m passionate about engineer solutions to complex problems, and Generative AI.I\'m currently working as an ML engineer at Gitlab working on contributing to Duo Workflow.My previous experience included working as a Software Engineer specialising in Generative AI at NatWest working on the customer facing chatbot Cora.Cora gets over a million conversations a month, and I am part of the team looking at new possibilities for Cora, especially in this new AI enabled world.During my time at NatWest I have specialised in first creating proof of concepts then moving them to becoming part of Cora and enhancing our Customers experience. I love being hands-on every step of the way, and working end-to-end: designing and building the features for the Cora of tomorrow.I\'m proud to say that I was the lead software engineer on a massive step in Cora\'s journey: Cora+This enabled Cora to answer customers questions using Generative AI, a first for Cora and the bank.I have worked a number of other generative AI projects with one that has just gone live with our colleagues: chat transcript summarisation.I have also worked on various data, NLP, AI and ML projects during my time with Cora. This is something I\'m passionate about with both innovation and customer experience are important to me.Before NatWest, I worked at a small startup where I was one of the few software engineers on creating their first chatbot. This gave me a unique opportunity to be deeply involved in every stage of product development, from initial design to deployment.
