WORK HISTORY
Construction Manager @Schnabel Engineering
Provided construction management for a 125 ft zoned earthen Category 1 embankment. Construction Management comprised of being a liaison representing the Owner for the municipalities, Department of Transportation, the public, and a special needs camp; management of up to six construction field representatives; monthly review of our construction budget; quality review of field paperwork during construction; preparing the Progress Meeting Agenda’s and Meeting Minutes; review of the Contractor’s Change Orders, Contract Extension Requests, and monthly payment application. The key features of the earthen embankment comprised of: A Riser Tower consisting a principal spillway and a raw water conveyance system through a rock tunnel; Auxiliary Spillway consisting of a rock cut channel; seepage control consisting of a foundation grouting, seepage cut-off wall, and clay core; internal drainage consisting of a chimney drain, blanket drain, and toe drain; and the new normal pool inundating a portion of an interstate embankment. Provided construction management and construction observation for a seepage cut-off wall and diaphram drain. This existing earthen embankment was approximately 50 feet in height, and classified as “High Hazard” or Category I dam. The seepage cut-off wall was approximately 750 lf in length across the crest of the dam, and comprised of a soil-cement-bentonite (SCB) wall excavated from approximately 45 to 72 feet in depth from the crest elevation of the embankment. The SCB wall was constructed while the reservoir was at full pool elevation. A diaphram drain was installed upstream of the principal spillway pipe outlet headwall. The drain comprised of fine and coarse drain fill, and associated piping to convey the collected seepage. A dewatering system was necessary to install the diaphram drain. A reservoir was also located immediately downstream of this earthen embankment.
