ABOUT TIM MCLERRAN

My mission is to care for patients based on their own deeply informative data, with wisdom derived from a partnership between human and machine intelligence, trained on data from billions of other humans and all the world\'s medical knowledge, with respect for the values of the individual.I have built clinical decision support tools and data analytics tools that leverage electronic medical record data, medical knowledge graphs, large language models (LLMs), and social media data to make recommendations and provide insights into manifestations and management of disease. I have also developed methods to rapidly analyze the molecular milieu of human blood using robotic automation and liquid chromatography coupled with untargeted mass spectrometry, providing a rich readout for states of health and disease and a foundational tool for precision medicine.I bring a unique set of skills to clinical product development:Clinical Knowledge and Experience: My experience practicing clinical medicine has given me a clear understanding of the clinical practice and healthcare systems. This allows me to design and iterate on products within days which would take weeks to months for someone without clinical expertise. Data Science & Data Engineering: I am able to obtain the data necessary to prototype and iterate on data-driven products, and to analyze the usage of our products. My deep understanding of artificial intelligence allows me to rapidly assess the feasibility of a product idea to help guide the team towards products and features which will be safe and practical for us to build with our current resources. Software Development Team Leadership: My experience leading software development teams helps me set priorities, constrain scope to provide early value and iterate following a lean process, negotiate timelines with engineers and other stakeholders. Business Acumen / Entrepreneurship: My experience as an entrepreneur and product manager has helped me assess the potential business impact of decisions, and communicate with business stakeholders to reach consensus on important decisions. Perhaps most importantly, it has helped me avoid wasting resources on things which will not contribute to the ultimate success of the company.User-Centered Design: I continuously engage with users in the environment in which they operate so that everything we build is driven to fulfill their needs in a way which is practical for them.
