ABOUT TIM MAXWELL
Tim\'s practice encompasses a wide range of commercial litigation with a particular specialism in art law and art litigation. In relation to art law, Tim has advised on many interesting matters including auction house negligence, disputes as to dealers\' commission, misattribution, authenticity, provenance, condition and recovery claims. Tim has been involved in some of the most significant art law cases in the UK in recent years. Notable highlights have included Old Master Paintings said to be by Titian and Caravaggio. More recently, Tim was involved with the recovery of a Banksy from the United States in connection with which Tim featured as Lawyer of the Week in The Times. Tim also advises on complex and high value claims concerning financial, contractual and shareholder disputes, most recently these include cases arising from the global financial crisis and its aftermath.
