About Tim Lui
I hold a PhD in Computer Science at UCI, where I focus on improving machine learning methods by drawing inspiration from the brain and neuroscience. My research includes biologically plausible machine learning, spiking neural networks, and spatial navigation.Before this, I completed my biomedical engineering degree at Cambridge and worked on exciting projects in healthcare ML, such as heart attack detection from ECGs and colonoscopy polyp detection. I also founded a startup, where I led my own marketing campaign.

Ads Conversion Modeling- Increase the performance of the conversion ads products by building ML models to accurately predict the conversion rate, which lowers advertisers’ cost and in turn brings more revenue for Pinterest. We also build models to enable new lower-funnel ads solutions to the advertisers.
