ABOUT TIM LIPP
I build the commercial infrastructure that lets innovative companies grow. My career has moved across industries and disciplines — language research in Nepal, financial audit analytics, cleantech entrepreneurship, mining technology commercialization — but the thread running through all of it is the same: I find the gap between what a company has built and what the market knows about it, and I close it.At Rosco Mining Solutions, I joined as the founding commercial hire of a husband-and-wife cleantech company with $1M in revenue and significant scale potential. In under a year I built up the sales process, enterprise client relationships, grant pipeline, emissions accounting framework, marketing strategy, and operational systems from the ground up. I developed relationships with Agnico Eagle, Baffinland Iron Mines, DeBeers, CNRL, and Glencore across Canada, the US, Peru, and Chile. Key outcomes included a $2.4M new customer deal, a $10M opportunity pipeline,$350K in debt financing, and three concurrent Alberta Innovates grant applications. Before that, I led proposal teams reflecting over $250M in business development, transformed client service lines in financial audit, and built a gamified energy audit technology company from an idea to a launched product using volunteer talent and no external capital. Earlier, I raised over $100K as a twenty-year-old to fund two years of published language development research in Nepal, work that now supports a literacy community of people.I hold governance roles including a board position with Corps Bara Dance Theatre and formerly with the Federation of Calgary Communities. I carry credentials in cybersecurity (CISA), ethical hacking, and project management, and I have worked extensively on AI integration, digital governance, and community systems design. What I do well is translate technical innovation into commercial momentum: building the relationships, systems, grant applications, and market narratives that let Alberta companies stop being the best-kept secret in their industry.
