Leads a team of substation technicians in executing maintenance and capital substation projects.• Project lead for all construction capital projects related to all capital substation projects, including P6 reporting, forecasting project costs and administrative work. • Establish standards, procedures and practices that provide a clear understanding of expectations and departmental maintenance objectives that satisfy corporate goals. • Prepares and manages the departmental operating and capital budgets. • Manages the substations maintenance program using the state-of-the art CASCADE software.• Develops scopes of work, purchase requisitions, contract agreements and issues RFQ’s• Manages and supervises contractors and subcontractors after award of contract or PO. This includes, oil containment installations, transformer lifts, landscaping/snow removal, station cleaning, pest control and general contractors.• Provides the support required by staff and hired contractors engaged in the day-to-day operation of maintaining and constructing medium voltage substation equipment. • Designs modifications and additions to substation networks up to 27.6 kV, that comply with regulation 22/04, CSA and standards. • Designed and managed the construction of new automated transformer panels that included SEL 2411 transformer monitor.• Creates specifications and standards for substation equipment such as, SCADA, relays, switchgear, transformers, cables, breakers, remote racking systems and switches.• Designed a new substation transformer refurbishment program that was migrated on SCADA, this includes: real time temperature readings, hydrogen gas alarms, fan failure alarms, and implementing electronic breathers. • Plans, coordinates, and manages all power transformer replacement projects with the lines department, this includes converting from PILC to EPR/XLPA conductors.
