About Tim Kuhlman

Mr. Kuhlman is a Professional Engineer and graduate of the University of Wyoming with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He is currently licensed to practice engineering in the states of AZ, CA, CO, GA, IA, ID, MA, MD, MI, NC, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI & WY. He holds a BICSI RCDD and CDI CDT certification.Tim has 30 years of experience in the construction and design of structured cabling for communication systems. This includes campus outside plant, building cabling, cable tray, communication rooms, wireless systems, fiber optics and category cabling. His industry experience includes projects across the US and includes projects in Ireland, Singapore, Korea, China, India and Malaysia. Tim is employed with Jacobs Engineering as the Global Electrical Discipline Manager. Former experience includes 6 years at TEECOM as Principal/Vice President managing the Portland Oregon office with a focus on hyper-scale data centers and semiconductor manufacturing clients. Almost 22 years at CH2M HILL where he designed telecommunications infrastructure for critical building environments. He is active in the engineering community where he has presents seminars on the National Electrical Code and specification writing. He has served on the Editorial Advisory Board for Consulting Specifying Engineer magazine and has published several articles relating to telecom infrastructure design. Volunteers for the Clark County Amateur Radio Emergency Service and the Clark County Amateur Radio Club supporting public events requiring radio communication services.Hobbies include amateur radio, diesel engine service, welding and fabrication. As an amateur radio operator Tim holds an FCC Extra Class license as KD7RUS.
