The Security Manager at Los Angeles Refinery (LAR) is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Department of Homeland Security\'s (DHS) Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) in addition to other federal, state, and local regulations, along with MPC Corporate Security standards. The Security Manager is instrumental in spearheading improvements in security effectiveness, community partnerships, and industry activity. The Security Manager is required to collaborate with other ESS professionals, refinery management and personnel, other MPC security groups, government officials, first responders and contractors.The Security Manager is responsible for critical activities such as monitoring the effectiveness of LAR security systems and determining the need for maintenance and innovative upgrades. Also developing, implementing, maintaining, and administering LAR\'s security policies, plans and procedures as well as overseeing the day-to-day activity, scheduling, and coordination of the contract security guard force.
