ABOUT TIM COMYN
I spent 15 years as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, specializing in piezoelectric materials and devices. Establishing the x-ray diffraction facility in the Engineering department, I developed new materials for extreme environment use, in aero and steam measurement. This is when I Co-Founded Ionix Advanced Technologies Ltd. As Co-Founder and Technical Director at Ionix, I have lead our team to commercialise high performance piezo-ceramic materials technology into extreme environment devices for client organisations in Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear, Manufacturing, Plant, Process Control and Oil & Gas sectors. With over 30+ years of experience in material science and device innovation, my mission is to help partners to achieve greater reliability, safety, and efficiency under challenging conditions. In a recent installation of our wireless ultrasonic probes and monitoring system, we increased production and revenue for refineries across the US by utilising trends to detect changes and forecast future asset integrity requirements.
