I\'m a member of the Arlington Police Department\'s Strategic Communication Group, which is responsible for all internal and external department communications. As Media Relations Coordinator, it is my job build relationships with local and national media, respond to media inquiries, write agency news releases, coordinate interviews with subject matter experts in the department, organize news conferences, and solicit news coverage on department successes, new initiatives, or major events. I also help run the department\'s social media accounts, maintain the department\'s website, help with content creation, photograph and film department events, and write talking points, web articles, and other department communications.
