ABOUT TIM CHALK

I am an Operations Director / Senior Manufacturing Manager with over 25 years experience of the full range of VC backed start ups and international World Class manufacturing businesses serving the Telecom, Medical, Industrial, Aerospace, Automotive, Defence and Consumer markets making products from semiconductors and components through to complete systems. I have worked in the US, UK, France, Italy, Singapore, China and Israel, managing turn over from £1k to £300M per year with 2 to 300 direct staff. As well as direct management, I have significant offshore experience from transferring products to South East Asia and full outsource models in China and Taiwan and the associated Operations processes to support this.With a technical background coupled with an MBA and commercial skills, I have proven ability to take new leading edge products from R&D to production and then create a successful, energetic operations environment. The next stage is to drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices. I have built successful Production, Engineering, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Quality teams.I thrive on leading companies to operational efficiency by focusing not only profit but by managing the constraints to achieve profitable growth, encouraging them to what I call “intrepreneurial” philosophy or entrepreneurial flair with guiding processes.
