R60 Recording Studio was conceived, designed, built, and equipped to record music infused with analog harmonic content. A 1980\'s Neve 5104 console is the centerpiece of the studio, supplemented by two channels of Neve 1073 preamps, 16 channels of Class A mic preamps, and 20 channels of vacuum tube microphone preamplifiers. Artists and bands can track live through the Neve, through tubes, or through Class A preamps. Studio gear aficionados will appreciate the vintage European microphones, and dozens of compressors: both rival the collections of any studios in the region. R60 also hosts the finest vintage British guitar amplifiers, a 1940 Hammond model D organ from a church in Minnesota that\'s been modified to have percussion and reverb, two Leslie model 31H \"tall boy\" rotating speaker cabinets - for true stereo Hammond organ tones, a vintage Wurly 200A electric piano, vintage Melotron keyboard, Ampeg bass amp, vintage Yamaha drum kit, and much more. The studio has a large tracking room, two iso booths, a vocal booth, a reverberant room, comfortable control room, lounge and bathroom areas. Acoustical treatments include custom-made wooden diffusers in the control room and tracking room, and custom-made absorbers in all recording rooms. The studio has a 16-channel headphone monitoring system, with headphone distribution jacks on each microphone input panel in every recording room. Abundant food, beverage, and entertainment options are conveniently located near R60 in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. The studio is comfortably finished with an abundance of antique Spanish chandeliers and wall sconces, French provincial furniture, metallic bronze-painted trim around doors, windows and floors, and a large collection of tapestries, print and painted art hung on the wall. It is an artistic cocoon. The namesake (a black 1970 BMW R60/5 motorcycle) resides in the lobby beneath an antique chandelier.
