About Tim Armstrong
I am an Internal Audit Director at Restaurant Brands International, where I help lead the company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program, operational control design, and next-generation audit initiatives across a global, multi-brand environment. In my role, I focus on building and evolving scalable control frameworks that align with a dynamic, multi-location operating model. This includes overseeing SOX execution, enhancing control design across key business processes, and driving continuous improvement through data-enabled auditing, automation, and more efficient ways of working. Prior to joining RBI, I spent over a decade advising organizations ranging from mid-sized companies to Fortune enterprises on SOX transformation, operational audits, and GRC optimization. I bring deep experience in designing first-year SOX programs, transforming control environments, and leveraging platforms such as AuditBoard to improve audit quality, transparency, and efficiency. I’m particularly interested in modernizing internal audit functions to deliver greater insight, strengthen risk management, and better support business decision-making. I hold an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and am a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
